How It Works

EnergyBidder provides a web portal which provides you with competitive bids from marketers for Residential and Commercial (business) users of electricity and natural gas. This service is available in areas where energy is deregulated. Bids are solicited at no cost to the customer and there is no obligation to enter into a contract with any energy marketer. The process differs slightly depending on whether you are interested in Residential or Commercial service.

  1. Enter the zip code for each location to determine if the area is deregulated and whether marketers can bid for your business.
  2. Enter the utility account number and service address for each location. Please be sure you are providing the utility account number and not a current marketer account number which may appear on your energy invoice.
  3. Provide authorization for marketers to request usage history for your account from the local utility so they can provide a bid.
  4. EnergyBidder will request marketer bids.
  5. EnergyBidder will alert you to the low bidding marketer and that marketer will contact you directly to complete the sign up. This is necessary because the marketer will need to check credit history for your account.
  6. The marketer will sign you up and forward any information required by the Public Service Commission.
  7. Service begins with the new marketer.
  8. EnergyBidder retains contract information in its database and contacts you with renewal bids approximately one month before the end of your initial term.
